Problem installing on Windows

Hi

I am pretty new to Ruby in general so this may not be a defect at all so apologies if this is not an appropriate place to raise this.

I installed Ferret using Gem.

When I attempt to use Ferret I get a Windows message '....ferret_ext.so is not a valid Windows image'.

I use gcc compiler ( do not have Microsoft C compiler ).

I wish to have the C extensions to test performance.

Any suggestions
